Assessment and Treatment for Nerve Dysfunction

The Merrifield Method provides an efficient process for systematically determining the cause of the patient’s pain, not just the source. This is a repeatable diagnostic metric which begins with seven (7) full-body movements to determine where further assessment is needed. A common logic is applied to all patterns to break down the movement in a systematic way to reach a conclusion of either “mobility or stability” motor control dysfunction.

Once the source of pain or discomfort is determined, clinicians will learn and perform Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques (MAT) to treat the dysfunction. This is based on the foundational work of Erik Dalton’s Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques.

If you have clients who suffer from stubborn aches and pains, the first approach is to do an assessment. This will guide your breakdown of what is causing the pain and how to use your techniques more efficiently to help your clients with long-term pain relief.
